Outbuilding fire with one deceased person

Grand Forks – On March 25th, 2023, at approximately 12:30 a.m., Grand Forks RCMP received a report from the Grand Forks Fire Services of an outbuilding fire in the 7000 block of 3rd Street.
Upon entry and extinguishment of the fire, the Grand Forks Fire Services located one deceased person inside.
The outbuilding was a shed structure, believed to be frequented by unhoused individuals. The deceased has yet to be identified.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation, but there is currently no indication the fire is suspicious.
