On Thursday, September 7, 2023, at 6:30 p.m. an off-duty BC Highway Patrol officer witnessed two motorcyclists, a 40-year-old Trail man and a 36-year-old Trail man, allegedly racing each other and crossing a double solid yellow line while travelling westbound on Victoria Street, in Trail, BC. The off-duty officer relayed his observations to a nearby Trail and Greater District RCMP officer on patrol in a marked police vehicle who located and detained both men roadside.

The 36-year-old Trail man and 40-year-old Trail man were issued $368 fines for Drive without Due Care contrary to Section 144(1)(a) of the BC Motor Vehicle Act and had their motorcycles impounded for up to 7 days.

Please drive defensively especially if you are on a motorcycle. Motorcycle incidents and injuries can often much more severe as the rider have less protection that when inside a enclosed vehicle. Drivers, please remain aware of motorcyclists on the road and check your blind spots frequently. says Sgt. Wicentowich.

On Friday, September 8, 2032, at 4:40 p.m. a frontline Trail and Greater District RCMP officer received phone call from a 27-year-old Trail man who saw a person wearing military issued camouflage pants in downtown Trail, BC. The man said he was offended on behalf of the military as he believed civilians were not allowed to wear these kinds of pants. The man requested that the officer locate the man and remove his pants.

The officer informed the man that the removal of someone’s pants would be illegal even if they were camouflaged. The man informed the officer that he would remove the man’s pants under order of King of England. The officer dissuaded the man from takin action after explaining to him that it would constitute an assault if he forcefully removed someone’s pants; despite any kingly edicts that may exist.

Our officers did look for the man reportedly wearing the camouflage pants downtown but unsurprising couldn’t find him. says Sgt. Wicentowich

The officer detained the man and his vehicle roadside.

The officer issued the man a $483 fine for Excessive Speed contrary to Section 148(1) of the BC Motor Vehicle Act and had his vehicle impound for up to 7 days.

Our officer issued the violation ticket using our new in-car electronic ticketing system. Electronic ticketing has proven to be an easier way to issue violation tickets with less errors. says Sgt. Wicentowich

On Sunday, September 10, 2023, at 7:25 p.m. a frontline Trail and Greater District RCMP officer responded to a report of a woman causing a disturbance in the 1400 block of Bay Avenue, in Trail, BC. A 28-year-old Trail woman allegedly has refused to leave a premise when requested by the employees. The officer attended and convinced the woman to leave the premise; however, she declined to leave the area. The officer observed that the woman may be under the influence of a drug during their interaction.

When the officer attempted to return to his police vehicle, the woman blocked his path and began twerking while yelling obscenities at him. The officer warned the woman that her actions would result in her arrest; however, she remained committed to her course of action. The officer arrested the woman for Breach of the Peace contrary to Section 31(1) the Criminal Code and for Intoxication in Public Place contrary to Section 74(1) of the BC Liquor and Licensing Control Act.

She was lodged until sober into the cellblock at the Trail Detachment.
