Richmond RCMP seeking witnesses to collision involving teenaged pedestrian.

On November 10, 2024 shortly after 4:30 p.m. Richmond RCMP attended the 6100 block of River Road for a collision involving a Gray Dodge Charger and teenaged pedestrian.

The driver of the Dodge Charger was travelling Eastbound on River Road when he struck the pedestrian, who was crossing mid-block.

The pedestrian suffered significant injuries and was transported to a local area hospital, where he remains in critical condition.

Richmond RCMP Criminal Collision Investigative Team (CCIT) with the assistance of the Integrated Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Service (ICARS), attended and processed the scene.

The driver remained on scene and is cooperating with police.

Impairment is not believed to be a factor in this collision.

Richmond RCMP CCIT is seeking witnesses or dash cam footage from anyone who was in the area of River Road between No 2 Road and Gilbert Road on November 10, 2024 between 4:10 p.m. and 4:40 p.m. Anyone who may have witnessed or have dash cam footage of this collision, is asked to call Richmond RCMP at 604-278-1212 and quote file number 2024-35686.

Richmond RCMP CCIT have conduct of this active and ongoing investigation.
