Richmond RCMP warn public after woman sexually assaulted

The Richmond RCMP is warning the public after an incident that occurred at a bus stop near the 7600 block of Abercrombie Drive.

Just after 6:00a.m. on October 29, 2022 the Richmond RCMP was contacted after a woman reported that a man unknown to her began walking westbound towards her on Abercrombie Drive. As the man passed by her, the suspect groped the victim. The victim screamed at the man who ran eastbound to the bus stop on No. 3 Road without looking back.

The suspect did not say anything to the victim, however the victim did get a description;

The man was last seen wearing;

The Richmond RCMP immediately conducted patrols in the area but did not locate anyone matching the description of the man. Officers continue to speak with those in the area with hopes of locating any video surveillance.

The victim was unhurt by the terrifying incident, and did the right thing by calling police immediately, they should be commended for their bravery said Sergeant Chris Manseau, spokesperson for the BC RCMP The public may see more officers in the area in the next few days as Richmond RCMP will be making patrols hoping to locate this suspect
