Richmond RCMP YVR investigating threat aboard flight

Shortly before midnight on December 30, 2022, frontline officers from Richmond RCMP YVR Detachment responded to information received from YVR operations, of a possible threat to an individual aboard Flair Airlines flight #2799 originating from Edmonton.

An individual on this flight received electronic communications on their mobile device of a possible threat and promptly advised the proper authorities says Corporal Dennis Hwang, Communications Officer for the Richmond RCMP.

Threats or perceived threats, in any form, will be fully investigated. The safety of the flight crew, passengers, and the public will always be of paramount concern for us. adds Cpl. Hwang.

Officers boarded the flight at gate B29 and cleared the aircraft before passengers and crew were able to disembark. Our investigation is active and on-going.
